  • BI Settlement Claims

BI Settlement Claims are claims previously settled by CCR and documented on behalf of the claimant that did not receive payment on behalf of ACMC.  These are referred to as "shorted" claims.

Although the NGCBIT developed a protocol and process by which holders of "shorted" claims, and their counsel, could submit BI Settlement Claims, that process is no longer available.  The bar date for certification of BI Settlement Claims was February 2, 2006.

BI Settlement Claims that were not submitted prior to the bar date must be filed with NGCBIT as a new claim in order to receive payment consideration.

Upon receiving executed releases, NGCBIT has paid all BI Settlement Claims which were confirmed by counsel and the CCR database.  Counsel has submitted a substantial number of claims for verification by NGCBIT and CCR.  NGCBIT and CCR are cooperating to determine which of the submitted claims are valid BI Settlement Claims and the results have recently been communicated to counsel.
